Questions that tell you a lot
How a provider answers matters as much as what they say.
- Who performs this, and what is their license?
- How were they trained for this treatment?
- What device or product is it, specifically?
- What does a series involve?
- What aftercare do I need?
- What happens if something goes wrong?
- What is the total cost before I start?
A short prep list
- Your medications, including vitamins and supplements.
- Health conditions and any recent changes.
- Allergies and past reactions to products or treatments.
- Past cosmetic procedures, with rough dates.
- Your questions for the provider.
- A notebook or phone to record answers and the quoted cost.
Having this ready helps a licensed provider decide what is suitable for you, and it means you are less likely to leave with an unanswered question.
When to pause
A consultation should feel like an exchange of information. If it feels like a sales pitch, take a step back.
Watch for pressure to commit on the spot, a treatment offered with no consultation, unclear answers about who does the work, or a reluctance to write down the total cost. Each of these is a reason to wait. To look up a license, search the website of the relevant Tennessee state licensing board by the person's name.
